WHAT: "Working Minds" Training for the workplace,
similar to a mental health and suicide first
aid course. Brief, skills-oriented training
is designed to help identify a person at risk
for suicide and connect them to help.
WHEN: This on-site training can be conducted
over the lunch hour.
WHO ATTENDS: The training is appropriate
for employees at all levels.
How was the training developed?
Dr. Sally Spencer-Thomas
is a psychologist, suicide survivor, and Clinical
Director for the Carson J Spencer Foundation
developed the training from best practices established
by the Yellow Ribbon International Suicide Prevention
Program, the Air Force, the National Mental
Health Association, and SAMHSA.
